sudo: no tty present and no askpass program specified

sudo visudo

Then edit that file to add to the very end:

username ALL = NOPASSWD: /fullpath/to/command, /fullpath/to/othercommand

eg

john ALL = NOPASSWD: /sbin/shutdown, /sbin/poweroff, /sbin/start, /sbin/stop
